Moon Festival= NO CLASS

As I mentioned yesterday, today is the Moon Festival so we don't have classes! yayyy! Honestly, I have no idea what the Moon Festival is... I should probably figure that out since it seems like a big enough festival to not have classes.

Pearl Market
Today Heather, Laura, Katie and I went to Grandma's kitchen for brunch and then to the pearl market. On the subway ride there I grabbed Heathers arm and told her I was about to faint. She didn't believe me until apparently my face turned white. Then Laura asked a guy to get up so I could sit down. I drank water and had a few tick tacs and eventually felt better. Clearly I haven't been eating enough meat or salt since I have been here. Guess that means I get to make some more trips to McDonalds :)... kidding?

Liz and Travis met us at the pearl market. We spent about two hours there. One lady told me I needed a large in this burberry jacket so I walked away. Another lady hit me on the back because she got mad about the price I wanted something for. So I walked away again. I managed to get each of my purchases for less than $5! I lied and told them when I was here in January I got things for a certain price. They told me I was lying to them and I was "no good friend to them" and I told them "of course not... I am good friend, I buy their purses". So they sold it to me for my price.

They have these shirts that say I <3 BJ (Beijing). So we all got one of those shirts. That was our last purchase at the pearl market. After two hours we were exhausted- so we are going to go back again. This time was just a trial run to scope everything out.

When we got back we walked around campus for a little because it was a gorgeous day! Then got baozi for dinner and then I studied and now I am ready for bed!
