Off to Henan for the Weekend

This past weekend CIEE students went to Henan for the weekend with three of our "teachers". They aren't actually our teachers, they are just in charge of the CIEE program here in Beijing and they call themselves laoshi's which is teacher in Chinese.

We met infront of Shaoyuan #2 at 7:50pm. We took a bus to the Beijing West Train Station. Our train didn't leave till 10:38pm so we had some time to kill in the train station. Thankfully we had soft sleepers so we were in the "nice" waiting lounge. Chandler (one of the laoshis) came over to me and had a package in his hand! I was so excited. It was from Julie... just some stomach medicine and a great card! Even the smallest package make my day.

We boarded the train around 10pm. Laura, Katie, Heather and I lucked out and were able to get a soft sleeper together. Soft sleepers are private rooms, with a door and four beds. More like bunk beds, but not really. We stayed up till around midnight having girl talk; I felt like I was in middle school again having a sleepover.
